Aluminium panels on the roof of the OCMW data centre in Ghent
OCMW Gent's data centre plays an important role in carrying out operations. It is, therefore, essential to protect them. Unfortunately, the cooling units of such a data centre often cause a lot of noise. The consultancy VK Architects and Engineering joined forces with APK Construct to combat noise pollution in a calculated way.

It was soon apparent that the cooling units required enclosures to reduce noise pollution. The noise barriers are constructed from panels that are slid horizontally into a support structure. A perfect sound seal is guaranteed between panel and support structure.
Aluminium noise barriers were chosen because of their easy installation and industrial look. A door was also provided in the panels so that the units remain easily accessible when needed.
