Characteristics

The enclosure consists of 2 sound-insulating doors, 1 air supply set, 1 air exhaust set, 2 pass-throughs, demountable roof panels, a bottom plate and extra required construction steel.

There were a number of challenges in this project:

  • There is a lot of piping between which the casing had to be placed. The casing itself achieves a significant reduction in the noise level, but the pipes around it still produce (too) much noise.

  • The bottom of the casing had to be completely sealed against sound leaks. To prevent the floor from becoming too heavy, it was constructed from cassettes filled with wool.
